We’re so pleased that Eric Huang jumped on board with the Future8 Awards as one of our industry expert judges! He is the Development Director at Made in Me, an award winning app developer specializing in children’s entertainment. We asked Eric to tell us more about himself and the company and why his experience is so inspiring for The Future8 Awards:
“Made in Me is known for their digital children’s bookshop, an app called Me Books, as well as their BAFTA-nominated app, Sneak. Having graduated with a degree in paleontology, I fell into the world of children’s media via a job as a secretary at Disney Publishing in LA. I worked at Disney for six years in a variety of editorial roles before moving to Melbourne, Australia, in 2001 as Managing Editor at Penguin Australia. I then joined Aussie toy company Funtastic as the founding publisher of their new book division, after which I re-located to the UK as Head of Licensing at Parragon. In 2007, I joined Penguin UK, where I eventually became Publishing Director of the Media and Entertainment division and looked after Penguin’s licensed publishing, IP and co-production businesses. After six years at Penguin, I became Development Director at Mind Candy, the creators of Moshi Monsters, before joining Made in Me in 2013.”
He now lives in London and says he is always on the lookout for creative partnerships around digital IP.
With such an extensive portfolio of incredible digital work, Eric was the obvious choice as one of the Mobile App judges.
